Entrepreneurship can be isolating—especially when you don’t already have access to people who have built what you’re trying to build.
COMMUNITY connects childcare entrepreneurs with business organizations, advisors, mentors, professional networks, and other sources of support that can help them move forward.
Support may include:
Many services are available at little or no cost to eligible entrepreneurs. CBCH helps bring those organizations into one searchable place
Depending on location, resources may include:
These organizations can help owners understand their local childcare ecosystem and connect with people doing similar work.
Relationships can create access to information, mentorship, professional services, partnerships, customers, capital, and opportunities that are difficult to find alone.
CBCH deliberately identifies organizations and networks focused on supporting Black entrepreneurs and Black-owned businesses. That may include:
A good advisor can help an entrepreneur see around corners.
Depending on the challenge, that person might be an experienced childcare owner, business advisor, financial professional, real estate professional, industry mentor, or another entrepreneur.
CBCH connects entrepreneurs with organizations offering mentorship and advising rather than pretending every question can be answered by an article.
As businesses become more sophisticated, owners often need specialists:
CBCH’s long-term goal is to make it easier to find professionals who understand childcare businesses.
Increasing Black ownership in childcare requires more than helping individual entrepreneurs open businesses.
It also means strengthening connections between Black owners, capital providers, professionals, mentors, organizations, and opportunities.
When those relationships become easier to access, knowledge doesn’t have to disappear every time someone builds a business. It can move through the community.
One entrepreneur learns. Another entrepreneur doesn’t have to start from zero. That’s how an ecosystem gets built.
Entrepreneurs, childcare organizations, business-support organizations, lenders, professionals, and community partners can recommend legitimate resources that could benefit childcare business owners.
Submitted resources are reviewed before they’re added to the CBCH database.
Potential partners may include:
Partnerships may include educational content, resource development, events, sponsorships, referrals, or other initiatives that support the CBCH mission.
Paid partnerships and sponsored placements will always be clearly identified.
Future network could allow childcare entrepreneurs to create profiles, connect with owners, ask questions, share experiences, find mentors, build local networks, and discover events/opportunities.
V1 REQUIREMENT: informational preview only. Do not build user accounts or social/community functionality.
CBCH exists because valuable information and connections shouldn’t only be available to people who already know where to look. We’re building one place where childcare entrepreneurs can find the resources, people, and opportunities that can help them move forward—with a deliberate commitment to expanding Black ownership within the childcare industry.
START a business. RUN it well. FUND what’s next. FIND A SPACE to build it. GROW beyond where you started. Build a COMMUNITY around it.
Democratizing access to ownership.
